With more than 30 years of crisis and public relations experience, Kym Koch Thompson of Koch Communications leads clients, fellow business leaders and employees through crisis communications management with an emphasis on preparation, transparency and responsiveness. Her tried and true approach to crisis and reputation management has helped Koch Comm’s clients persevere through all types of public and internal organizational crisis situations while keeping their brands intact.
Kym’s career began as a local television reporter before being named spokesperson and legislative liaison for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, press secretary for former Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry and public affairs director for Cox Communications. This journey led her to founding Koch Comm, which began as a one-woman shop in 2005 and is now a thriving digital marketing and public relations firm that employs more than 45 team members. She is also co-founder of Oklahomans for the Arts and a board member for the Oklahoma City Arts Council and Science Museum Oklahoma.
